Dear friends, the time for release has arrived.
The Hekatean Lunation Talisman is a “witch bottle” style phylactery which has been crafted, consecrated, and kept on my altar for most of 2026. The process began on the new moon in Capricorn on January 19 and culminated during the Walpurgisnacht moon (in Scorpio) April 30 – May 1.

Monday Jan 19. 3rd hour of the Moon. Home temple (basement).
Lit candle to Hekate with short prayer. Lit 3 short candles, facing West/Southwest toward the moon’s position below the horizon. Held 3 sheets of fine paper over the flames, read Hymn of Orpheus to the Night. Carefully folding and ripped the papers into 8 equal pieces each (24 total). Waved these over flames while reading the Hymn of Orpheus to the Sky. Set the paper pieces on two large keys on the altar. Poured some sea water into the dish holding the candles. Read the Hymn of Orpheus to Selene while dipping my finger in the water and rubbing in a circle onto each piece of paper. Finished just as the candles sputtered out in the remaining water. A final short prayer to Hekate-Selene as I poured the remaining water onto the floor.
Dream 1/19/26. In the dream it is daytime, outdoor desert / scrub brush environment. The plants and ground are teeming with all sorts of strange spiders – many of them are lavender / purple colored. As I move I am brushing against plants and the spiders are crawling on me. They are biting me and finally many of them converge on my back, mid spine, and bite me there, all in the same spot. I awake.

I have had several more intense dreams during the time I have been working on the phylacteries, and this past week I’ve field tested the finished one I chose for myself several times. It has been effective in providing me with brief but intense visions in meditation, even though I am in general not particularly receptive to receiving such. In one of these, a spirit taking the form of a pale child with pitch black eyes, wearing a black cowboy hat visited me, and gave me its name when I asked. I later discovered these two words were very old terms for “farm” and “wetlands”. I’ve also continued to have several more clear and jarring dreams (including one in which I was welcomed in friendly fashion by a group of zombies, and another wherein I found myself confronted by a huge slate grey bull rampaging toward me!) that have helped me compose a spell to accompany the talismans. I was also inspired during the crafting phase to compose two chants which will be part of this resulting ritual.

Most shocking to me though is that I got some physical epiphanies as well! As I wrote above, on the very night I first started crafting them back in January, I had a dream wherein a massive amount of spiders crawled over my body and then all converged on the center of my back, where they bit me all in the same spot on my spine. This past week while in separate rituals (one at my indoor altar, one in my yard, and one on a rocky beach near some wetlands) I was bitten three times along my spine – once between the shoulders, the second time right in the middle of my back (where they bit me in the dream), and the third time at the base of my spine! I noticed each bite within a few hours of the ritual. I try to be skeptical in my assessment of my magic, and I don’t think I am habituated toward wishful thinking, nor exaggerating the effects of spellwork. But THIS I consider an initiation.

The Hekatean Lunation series is a limited and unrepeatable edition of thirteen talismans with an accompanying text providing further details on the process of their creation as well as an original lunar-chthonic ritual based on ancient sources and the maker’s personal gnosis.

Although the talismans are quite attractive, they are not ornaments or accessories but rather intended for use in temple, field, mountaintop and cave. The materials will undoubtedly get shaken up during shipping, and organic ingredients may be expected to age and break down in unexpected ways. Suggested for necromancy and divination, as well as working with ancestors, land spirits, graveyard energies, lunar correspondences, tides and magnetism, and for use on Hekate altars and workings.

Due to the complexity of the pieces and the amount of time and energy I have spent on them, I am pricing them at $130, which I also verified through divination as a fair price. That is a bit more than other pieces I have crafted in the past, and I know it will make these cost-prohibitive for a lot of people, but I am feeling strongly about the power in these bottles and the energy drain that went into making them.

I hate the thought of “high end” magical tools though, and I am also going to offer a lower-cost version that isn’t quite as involved production-wise. That one will look similar to the limited edition and will contain some of the same materials, but it won’t have received as much magical and consecratory attention from me.

The talismans are available via my online shop HERE, or you are welcome to get in touch directly to discuss the lower cost option. Four of the current edition have already been claimed via pre-orders, so don’t wait if this is calling to you!
Very best regards and blessings for a season of abundance,
Jason Triefenbach, HFHR MSG-PF
