As some of you may know, there is an Ecstatic Agendas channel over on Youtube. My attention to that medium has been sporadic at best, but I hope to pick up my pace and regularity on the platform. In fact, I have posted two videos this week. The first is a short account of a somewhat funny dream I had a few nights ago. (Well, funny to ME anyway. That may or may not come through to the viewer; I often notice that when I make a joke, people think I’m being serious. And it is not all that rare for my serious statements to be taken as levity by those unfortunates within earshot of my ramblings.)
I digress.
I added another video tonight that is just a bit longer, winding up at 6m44s. It is more of a serious talk in which I attempt to summarize and synthesize two strands of inquiry that take up almost all of my life and thought-space these days: Magic and Ecology.
In my masters program I am focusing on what we might call Coupled Human – Natural Systems, and in the video I apply that concept to restoration and storytelling.
On the sorcerous side of things, I reference something my teacher Jack Grayle said recently online as a way of calibrating the myths and stories of the past with our own matrices of mind and body and spirit. It all ends with the question of whether or not we are nourishing or starving our higher aspirations and ideals with the sorts of stories we consume. Here’s the link to that one below – I hope you’ll take a little time to watch, and if that’s not to your tastes then there’s the other shorter, sillier dream tale.
Of course I absolutely adore subscribers!
Very Best,
Jason Triefenbach, HFHR MSG
